After a competitive pitch process in mid-2020, Onstate were delighted to be awarded the contract to re-design and migrate the BetterYou Magento store to Shopify Plus.
As an innovative natural health brand - and fellow Yorkshire inhabitant - BetterYou were looking for a Shopify Plus Partner that can get under the skin of their brand, its customers, and can move at pace to deliver on their ecommerce goals.
The original brief was to move the store from their current, labour-intensive Magento site to Shopify Plus, along with a longer-term partnership to enhance the brand online.
Being bogged down with patch upgrades, constant bug fixes and a bad customer experience meant the BetterYou team were looking for a stable platform that enables them to focus on generating more revenue and improving the user-experience, rather than attending to ‘keeping the lights on’.
Because the BetterYou team wanted to move quickly, an initial ‘lift-and-shift’ approach was taken to move to Shopify Plus, retaining and enhancing any functionality that existed on the store. In addition to utilising the out-of the box solutions that Shopify has to offer, we were able to build complex, custom functionality using Shopify Scripts that offers free products to customers who purchase an at-home test kit.
We made enhancements to the navigation, footer and product listing pages but that’s not where it stops. Utilising our customer-first approach to design, we are due to begin a second phase that will focus on the development of the brand accompanied by UX and UI improvements.
