We have worked with Leekes since 2013, being initially engaged to replatform their online store from Venda to Magento. Since then we have supported the business’ online growth and formed a close working relationship with the Leekes e-commerce team.
Being a multichannel retailer, a key part of our work with Leekes is digitally translating their offline retail value proposition. Each aspect of this poses technical and UX challenges: promotions, interest-free credit, multichannel fulfilment and support for complex product types. Over the years we have helped Leekes evolve their ecommerce function to deliver on all of these.
The Leekes.co.uk store retrieves stock and lead time information in real time from the company's ERP system. This was enabled by extending the platform’s API coverage. This gives the shopper a firm promise of delivery timings and costs at the point of purchase.
When working with larger retailers such as Leekes, we run cross-departmental workshops in order to engage the wider business within the e-commerce project. The workshops give us an opportunity to hear from those in buying, merchandising, customer services and shop floor teams - generating insight from those closest to the end customer.
As a multifaceted business with a wide and varied product offering, it’s always been important for us to work with partners that understand our business and can adapt to our needs. Onstate have been able to do this and have always offered a flexible and helpful approach. We are pleased to be partnering with them on our new Magento 2 project.
As part of our long-term relationship with Leekes we have provided training to their team: running sessions to teach both basic and advanced use of Google Analytics.
We co-developed the ERP - ecommerce integrations with the Leekes in-house team. We extended Magento’s API to handle non-standard workflows whilst they developed Navision in a similar fashion. In this way, the two systems work hand-in-glove.
